Other things to see

Universal CityWalk This is a shopping district between the two parks with shops and restaurants. Also features three hotels that guests can stay at. Universal Events The parks celebrate Christmas time, with the Wizarding World being decked out and more. Also, during Halloween, there are two events, both held at the studios park. During the day there is a family-friendly event with trick-or-treating and the like while at night is the Halloween Horror Nights event that Universal fans are more used to. In addition, Australian holidays are celebrated here too.

Entertainment at the parks

There are many forms of Entertainment at the parks. Let's look at a few of them: Universal Studios Australia Mega Movie Parade: This is a parade where guests see movies brought to life, from classic Universal films of the 70's, 80's, and 90's to more recent hits, this is a parade for everyone. Hogwarts Lights: At nighttime, guests can see the castle of Hogwarts Light up in dazzling ways. Here, all four houses are represented and guests go on a journey through the year. World of Wonders Universal's Lagoon of Wonders: At night, the lagoon lights up, playing moments from several properties in the parks, Universal and non-Universal, in an awesome spectacle.

China

Image
One of two family areas in the park, this area takes inspiration from the beauty and majesty of China, as well as the Kung-Fu Panda films. Here, guests are immersed in the Valley of Peace. This is similar to the Land of Awesomeness in Beijing, but it is not indoors. When coming in from Egypt, guests are immersed in an Ancient Chinese area. Here, they can find Warrior Wares on the left and Mr. Ping's Noodle House on the right. Going further in, guests will find two family attractions. Lantern Race is one of them, and it spins guests over a Chinese garden in a flying lantern. The other one is Noodle Bowls, a teacups attraction where guests spin around in bowls. Towards the end of the area is Chinese Kitchen, another Chinese restaurant. Nearby is the Jade Palace, where guests can ride the boat ride Kung-Fu Panda: Journey of the Dragon Warrior. Similar to a ride found in Beijing, guests travel to the Valley of Peace to celebrate, but when Po accidentally releases evil villains from t...

Egypt

Image
Guests travel back to the perils of 1920's Egypt, where old archaeological sites hold dark secrets and ancient curses. This is a thrill-seeker's area with its key attraction, although it also has things for younger adventurers too. When entering through Jumanji, guests come into a Middle Eastern bazaar. Here, they can shop at Ancient Accessories and Egyptian Antiques as well as eat at the Explorer's Inn. Further down is a play area for kids, Lost Ruins. Guests can also ride cars through the Egyptian Ruins on the Ruins Exploration Cars, which feature old automobiles hat guests can ride. Jumanji

Image
So this might not be a real area in the world, but I still wanted to include it since I ran out of ideas for country and world region-inspired areas. This section is mainly based off the 2017 sequel/reboot series, even though a few nods to the original can be found throughout the land. When guests enter through London, they enter the jungle....literally. They are immediately immersed in a jungle outpost where things from all over the mythical land of the game are seen. Nearby is Nigel's Cafe, a dining location, while Traders of Jumanji is located nearby as well. Towards the back of the area is Jaguar River Rapids, where guests ride rafts through Jumanji, only to come across some supernatural perils. The key attraction of this area is found further on. Here, guests will board EMV jeeps (similar to Disneyland's Indiana Jones Adventure ride) and travel through Jumanji on a ride combining animatronics, screens, and visual effects known as the Jumanji Expedition.   Lost Treasures...

The Wizarding World of Harry Potter: Diagon Alley

Image
The second installment to the Wizarding World takes guests to the streets of the world-famous shopping district for witches and wizards, Diagon Alley. However, this is a smaller version of the area seen in Florida, mainly because the Carkit Market has been replaced with the Ministry of Magic ride coming to Epic Universe. When guests exit the streets of New York City, they will instantly find themselves in a small portion of London. Here, they can see the Knight Bus, Grimmauld Place, and even take the Hogwarts Express to Universal Studios. Also here is where guests can travel via floo powder to the Ministry of Magic, where they can ride the elevator ride Harry Potter and the Battle at the Ministry. However, when guests go through the brick wall, they will find the lion's share of things in this land in Diagon Alley. Here, guests can dine at the Leaky Cauldron and the Fountain of Fair Fortune or do their shopping at Weasley's Wizard Wheezes, Flourish and Blott's, Ollivander...

New York

Image
If there is any city that defines the blended culture of America, it has to be New York City. Here, guests can live the city life as they are immersed in the Big Apple, taking in the melting pot of the area as they do. When guests first enter the area, they can see a giant, red roller coaster on the left, weaving in and out of many buildings. This coaster, known as the New York Groove is the most intense coaster in the park with three inversions, a high speed, and a wild launch. Going further down, guests will find the load area for the ride, as well as shops like City Outfitters and Toy Topia. On the right are two restaurants that share the same building. There's Mulligan's Irish Pub and then there's Louie's Pizzeria. From there, guests enter a Central Park area, where guests can chill out and maybe shop at the Crepe Stand. Also surrounding Central Park are a few attractions. On the left is Ghostbusters: Specter Showdown, a 3-D shooter ride. Across from Central Park ...

Puerta Aventura

Image
Themed to a beach resort in southern Mexico, this area serves as the "Main Street" of the park. Although it does not have much to see, it is an immersive area that puts you in the adventure mood, and even features a Mayan pyramid at the end that you can walk around. After passing by the spire, guests will enter through the gates and find themselves in the park. Here, they will find World of Wonders Trading Co. on the right, the largest store in the park, as well as the Expedition Station on the left, which offers help and services to the park. Going further down, guests can have Mexican food at La Cantina del Mar and snacks at Aventura Bakery. Guests then go under a bridge and further into the land. Here, they can shop at Jewels of the Sea and Treasures of the Caribbean on the left or shop at Clothing Corner and eat at Den of the Confiscated on the right. The latter is an immersive dining location where guests can eat exotic food while being surrounded by items confiscated ...

Universal World of Wonders: An introduction

Image
In the second park of Universal Australia Resort, guests go on a globe-trotting adventure in a park themed to adventure, discovery, and seeing the world. The icon here is the towering Adventure Spire, a rocky landmark that beckons guests to come forward and see what is inside. This has a similar layout to Universal Islands of Adventure with the lands surrounding a central lagoon. Here are the 7 areas of the park: Puerta Aventura New York The Wizarding World of Harry Potter: Diagon Alley Jumanji Egypt China Madagascar Each of these areas and their attractions will be gone over in later posts.

Sci Fi Expo

Image
This is a nod to many Science Fiction franchises. It is home to not one, nor two, but three Sci-Fi films: Back to the Future, Men in Black, and Transformers. It is split into two sections: an expo center and N.E.S.T. headquarters. When coming into the land from Minion Land, guests first enter the expo center. Here, a giant globe is in the center, recreating the one seen in the 1964 New York World's Fair. Expo Snacks is a snack stand coming in. On the left is a large coaster building, home to Back to the Future: Race through Time. This launch coaster is a ride through time, traveling to times and places while listening to rock music from the 1980's. The ride exits into Doc's Supply Lab. The Pavilion is a restaurant nearby. On the other side of the expo area is Men in Black: Alien Attack, similar to the ride found in Orlando where guests shoot aliens. The ride exits into MIB Gear. Crossing a bridge takes guests into the base for N.E.S.T. (Non-biological Extraterrestrial Spe...

Isla Nublar

Image
Welcome to Jurassic Park......or is it Jurassic World? Actually, it's both. Here, guests can experience the thrill, mystery, and science of both film trilogies in this area. There is even a sign in the center with both the Jurassic Park and Jurassic World signs on it to help transition these two sections. Entering in through Berk, guests first come into a Jurassic World area. Here, they can find thrilling attractions. They can take a ride on the Jurassic World Velocicoaster and speed through the jungle. This is a similar ride to the one in Universal Islands of Adventure. Nearby is Jurassic Cafe, a dining spot, as well as the Jurassic World Adventure. This advanced motion dark ride, similar to the ride system used in Spider-Man and Transformers but minus the 3-D element, sends guests through Jurassic World when the Indominus Rex breaks free and goes on a rampage. This is similar to a ride found in Beijing. The ride exits into Hammond's Trading Company, named after John Hammond...

Minion Land

Image
On the left side of Hollywood is yet another family area, this one centered on Illumination's Despicable Me and Minions films. This recreates the wacky world of the animated films, and of course, features many Minions all around. When entering from Hollywood, guests pass by Minions on a beach. Nearby is the Minion Cafe, where guests can eat themed foods. Going around Super Silly Fun Land, guests pass by other things, including Minion Market and Bake My Day. In the back of the area are two attractions. One of them is Despicable Me Minion Mayhem, the motion simulator ride that exists in many other parks, and the other one is an original trackless dark ride, Minions: Weapon Heist. In this ride, the Minions go to the Paradise Mall in an attempt to find one of Gru's gadgets that they accidentally misplaced, all while encountering other supervillains too. Both rides exit into Dr. Nefario's Gadget Vault. Going further down the land, guests find Freeze Ray Ice Cream  and the Vill...

Located to the right of Hollywood is a recreation of Berk from the How to Train Your Dragon films. Here, guests are immersed in a Viking settlement filled with dragons of all kinds. This is mainly a family area with attractions aimed at younger guests. When entering through Hollywood, guests enter the main area of Berk. Here, they will find a spot on the right called Viking Training Camp. Here is where children can play while learning about the dragon classes. Nearby is the Hungry Dragon restaurant, where guests can eat fast food. Going further in, guests will find a carousel called the Dragon Carousel, where guests ride dragons. From there, guests will enter into the main village, but first, they will pass by the Fyre Drill boat ride, where they shoot water cannons at targets (and other boats.) When in the village itself, guests will find more to see. Around the village, guests can shop at Traders of Berk and Gobber's Blacksmith Shop, or they can eat in the Mead Hall. Going furt...

Hollywood

Image
Serving as the "Main Street" of the park, this is an area dedicated to movie making and the glamour of Hollywood. Here is where guests can experience the City of Stars like never before, and even get a nice glimpse of the lagoon. When going through the gates, guests will walk down the Avenue of the Stars. On both sides are shops and restaurants, as well as Studio Hall, which is found on the left side towards the park's entrance and gives help and services to customers. To the right is the park's largest gift shop, the Universal Studios Store . Going down the road, guests will find the Darkroom, Studio Snacks, Blockbuster Cafe, and Glitz and Glamour to the right and Hollywood Extras, Animation Station, and Mel's Drive-In to the right.
